The best-known greenway in Asturias, following the old Teverga and Quirós mining railway, with the enclosure of the bears Paca and Tola in Proaza.
Built on the route of the Trubia mining railway, closed in 1963, the Senda del Oso connects Tuñón (Santo Adriano) with Ricabo and Entrago, in the municipalities of Teverga and Quirós, with a branch to San Salvador de Alesga.
Its management combines the Principality of Asturias with the local councils of Proaza, Teverga, Quirós and Santo Adriano; in Proaza, the Casa del Oso runs the interpretation centre and the semi-free enclosure where the bears Paca and Tola live.
Tarmac or compacted gravel surface, very gentle gradients and almost no motor traffic: it is the most suitable greenway in Asturias for children, leisure bikes or wheelchairs on its flattest sections.
