The Ortiguera – Viavélez trail runs through the municipality of Coaña, within the Asturias Greenways Catalogue. It is 14 km long. It allows both pedestrian and cycle-touring use (BTT), on a surface designed for both.
The route goes from Ortiguera - A Figueira - Lloza - Playa de Torbas - Playa de Cambaredo - Playa de Pormenande - Viavélez. Its low difficulty and gentle gradients make it suitable for families, with no previous hiking experience needed.
It is promoted by Principality of Asturias, within the Asturias Greenways Catalogue (2011). As across the whole network, it is worth checking the current state of the signage before setting off: more than a decade has passed since the official cataloguing.

The trail runs through Coaña, El Franco, between Ortiguera - A Figueira - Lloza - Playa de Torbas - Playa de Cambaredo - Playa de Pormenande - Viavélez.

What to bring
- Comfortable closed shoes; if the difficulty is moderate or high, trekking footwear is better.
- Plenty of water: most greenways have no fountains along the whole route.
- Sun or rain protection depending on the season — Asturian weather changes fast.
- If you are cycling, check your brakes: some greenway sections have short slopes.
